SIMA, a Syrian dancing band which participated in the third season of Arabs Got Talent, won the MBC-sponsored competition after performing various kinds of group dance dedicated to their war-torn country.

The band was announced the winner of the largely followed talent show on Saturday.

Among the 12 front runners in the competition, the Syrian dancers were named the victors after receiving the majority of votes.

Members of the SIMA band said during their first audition that the band consists basically of more than 50 dancers, “but the many members couldn’t join due to the current situation in Syria”. Only 32 of them were present during the competition. However, those who participated insisted to compete and win the title of Arabs Got Talent 2013, which they dedicated to Syria.

After performing during Saturday’s final, the show’s judge Ali Jabir commented saying: “You are the real face of Syria… God bless you and damn the war.”

Najwa Karam, famous Lebanese singer and one of AGT’s judges, was impressed by SIMA’s performance. “You confirm the fact that what is happening now in Syria does not represent genuine Syrians. Thus is Syria, rich with artist and pregnant with culture,” said Karam.

The Saudi Comedian and a AGT judge, Nasir al-Qasabi, praised Sima’s performance saying: “That was a truly impressive and amazing performance, just like a lively painting, emotionally moving. Thanks for this worth watching performance,” al-Qasabi commented.

Dancers of Syrian SIMA band dedicated their “Huna Elsham” performance (here is Damascus) to Syria, receiving the highest number of public votes, to move to the finals and win the show.
