Aleppo, Syria− The Syrian air force bombed the city of al-Dana in the countryside of Idlib north Syria on Friday. At least five civilians were reportedly killed.

Wael Abu Assaf, a human rights activist based in Idlib, told ARA News that the regime warplanes targeted several neighbourhoods southeast of al-Dana city. “Five people reportedly killed in the attack, while six others were injured and transferred to the field hospital in the city,” according to Abu Assaf.

“Fierce clashes broke out between fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) −backed by Ahrar al-Sham Movement− and the regime’s forces in the vicinity of Khan Sheikhoun town, south of Idlib,” Said Abu Assaf.

The clashes coincided with artillery shelling targeted the city from the surrounding barriers, sources reported.

Furthermore, on Wednesday, five civilians were killed, including two children, while several others wounded after the pro-regime air force targeted the villages of Umm al-Reesh and Jisr al-Shughour in Idlib’s suburbs.

Meanwhile, similar strike targeted al-Hubeit and Mardabsa towns in the southern countryside of Idlib, as the town of Darkoush was exposed to artillery shelling from the barrier of Maasara. No casualties were reported.
