Aleppo, Syria – At least 12 civilians were killed dozens injured in the city of Aleppo on Tuesday, amid renewed air strikes by the pro-Assad air force.
Imad Hussein, civil activist based in Aleppo, told ARA News that the pro-Assad helicopters dropped an explosive barrel on the neighbourhood of al-Mughayer, landed near a mosque in the neighbourhood, killing ten civilians, including two children and a woman, while wounding about 18 others.
“The injured were transferred to field hospitals in the nearby neighborhoods,” Hussein said.
The pro-regime helicopters dropped four other explosive barrels on Masakin Hanano neighbourhood in Aleppo, local sources reported on Tuesday evening. While a similar strike hit the towns of Haritan and Anadan in the northern countryside of Aleppo, without recording casualties.
Khaled Salloum, another civil activist from Aleppo, told ARA News that 2 civilians were killed and several others were injured today in an aerial bombardment by the pro-Assad warplanes which targeted the town of Mare’ in Aleppo countryside with rockets.
“Another explosive barrel was landed on the Hulok neighbourhood in Aleppo, without injuries reported,” Salloum added.
Salloum stated for ARA News that one civilian was shot dead by the pro-regime snipers in the neighborhood of al-Ashrafiyeh (where Kurds constitute a majority).
Meanwhile, two pro-regime soldiers were killed during clashes with rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Aleppo environs.
