Kobane, Syria – Militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) arrested on Saturday three Kurdish civilians from Kobane city in Aleppo countryside, north of Syria.

The detainees were captured while on their way from Aleppo to Kobane (an ISIL-held highway), and were reportedly transferred to the nearby city of Menbij in northern Syria.

Militants of al-Qaeda splinter group of ISIL also hijacked two microbuses transporting 30 people on Thursday, most of them were employees coming back from Aleppo to Kobane after receiving their salaries from the regime-held side of the city.

This came amid clashes between the Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) –linked to the Democratic Union Party (PYD)– and ISIL members at the outskirts of Kobane city that suffers from ISIL siege as well as water and power cut for months.
