ISIS executes, crucifies 13 Syrians in Deir ez-Zor

Urfa, Syria – On Thursday, militant fighters of the Islamic State group (IS/ISIS) executed 13 people in the province of Deir ez-Zor, in eastern Syria, on charges of dealing with the Syrian regime and fighting against the group, local sources reported.

The Islamic State’s militants executed Azraq Khammash and Bassam Khalaf from the Arab clan of Sheitat in the town of Granij, as well as beheading Sami Ahmed Khalaf vallage of (Dahleh), Khalaf Abbas (village of Jidari) and Hamid Tineika (village of Shahil) on charges of resistion the IS group, pro-opposition activists reported on Thursday.

The victims were reportedly executed and then crucified with banners hang on their chests showing the reasons of execution.

Also on Thursday, local sources in Deir ez-Zor reported that the radical group beheaded three other people, Khaled Jerit, Fahd Abdulaziz Hamid and Freikh Sayyid from Sheitat clan (known for its opposition to IS).

Speaking to ARA News in Deir ez-Zor, civil rights activist Fayez Abdulaziz said that IS insurgents executed five Syrians in the cities of Muhasan, Mayadeen, and the town of al-Bulel in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

“Three of them were executed in Mayadeen, two others shot and kiled on charges of dealing with the Syrian regime forces, and the third beheaded at al-Bakra roundabout in the city on charges of forming a cell to fight the Islamic State.”

Abdulaziz added that the IS hardline militants executed a university student in the town of al-Bulel, following his arrest a few days ago while on his way back from college on charges of smoking.

“The fifth victim was executed in the city of Muhasan on charges of having links with pro-regime intelligence,” Abdulaziz said.

The Islamic State group crucified the victims after executing them in public squares in towns and villages of Deir ez-Zor.
