Erbil, Kurdistan Region – On Friday, the Islamic State group (IS/ISIS) executed 15 civilians in the al-Bu Faraj area north of the Iraqi city of Ramadi, following its control over the village Thursday night.

Speaking to ARA News in Ramadi, Abu Firas al-Rubaie said that among the victims were seven young men and six women, stressing that the situation in Ramadi is fragile as a state of panic spread among the city’s residents, especially after the recent attack on the al-Bu Faraj.

The source pointed out that a lot of people have been displaced to al-Bu Faraj and took shelter in mosques and the school of Khalid bin Walid in the city of Ramadi.

Also on Friday, a huge explosion hit the Sadda road in Ramadi, amid dozens of IS-fired mortars in the area.

Meanwhile, also on Friday, the radical group slaughtered the Sheikh Ibrahim Abdul Aziz, imam of the al-Rahman Mosque in the neighborhood of al-gamin in the city of Mosul, after he criticized the group’s practices in a speech last week.

“Imam Abdul Aziz has repeatedly criticized the IS group, and during last Friday’s prayers he called on residents of Ramadi to revolt against the terrorists of IS because they’re destroying the image of Islam by their atrocities under the name of Allah,” Osama Abu Hadi, an eyewitness, told ARA News in Mosul.

Hadi added that the IS group announced that Sheikh Abdul Aziz has committed a crime against Islam, and then he was brutally slaughtered at the entrance of the mosque in front of worshipers before the start of Friday’s prayers.

“The radical group vowed that the same fate will be awaiting any opponents to their caliphate,” Hadi added.
