Aleppo, Syria – On Saturday, Syrian warplanes targeted a rebel-held residential neighborhood in the city of Aleppo. Local sources reported that at least six people were killed in the airstrike.
The Maadi neighborhood of Aleppo, which is under the control of rebel forces, was exposed to bombardment by the Syrian air force on Saturday afternoon.
“The initial death toll is six people, which may increase due to the critical nature of the injuries,” a local media activist told ARA News in Maadi, adding that dozens of civilians are trapped under the rubble of bombarded residential buildings.
“Members of the Civil Defense have pulled several of those stranded from under the rubble, while the operation of searching for other continues in the neighborhood,” the source added.
In the meantime, the rebel fighters targeted with improvised shells the regime-held district of Suleimaniyah in central Aleppo.
“Seven people were killed and dozens others injured in Suleimaniyah,” a local source said.
