Aleppo, Syria – On Saturday, Syrian regime warplanes continued attacks on the city of Aleppo for the eighth consecutive day, causing an increasing number of casualties among civilians.
Activist Mohammed Baraa told ARA News that the countryside of Aleppo saw intensive bombardment on Saturday.
“Dozens of civilians were killed due to the fall of barrel bombs on residential buildings and public squares in Aleppo,” Baraa said.
The source said that both the al-Sukkari and Bab al-Hadid neighborhoods were targeted with missile by pro-Assad warplanes.
“Some of the shells were dropped on the neighborhoods of Bustan al-Qasr and al-Mashhad in the past few days, causing dozens of casualties,” the source reported.
Speaking to ARA News in Aleppo, activist Walaa Najjar said that the western and northern countryside of Aleppo experienced intense bombardment with barrel bombs on Saturday, leading to the death of at least four civilians and the injury of 13 others in the town of Bayanoun.
Meanwhile, similar air raids targeted the towns of Anadan and Ratyan.
Najjar pointed out that the aerial bombardment with rockets and barrel bombs on al-Bab caused the injury to dozens.
“As a result of these attacks, hundreds of people fled their homes,” the source added.
Noteworthy, the city of Aleppo and its countryside witnessed a violent bombing campaign by the Assad forces. The attacks centered on the neighborhoods and towns controlled by the Syrian opposition forces, and left dozens of people dead and hundreds others wounded, according to local sources.
