Damascus, Syria – United States and allied military forces renewed airstrikes on strongholds of the militants group of Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in Syria and Iraq, officials of the Combined Joint Task Force reported on Wednesday.
The anti-IS international coalition conducted 32 strikes on positions of the radical group in the last 24 hours.
In Syria, the U.S.-led coalition targeted tactical units and fighting positions of IS militants in Hasakah and Idlib. The strikes destroyed at least three armored vehicles and killed several militants form the group.
Iraqi cities of Habbaniyah, Haditha, Mosul, Ramadi and Tal Afar saw several strikes by the U.S.-led coalition on Wednesday.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense confirmed that the renewed strikes led to the destruction of more than five IS military vehicles and six tactical units.
Wednesday’s strikes also hit the IS tunnel near Mosul, which has been constantly used for militants movement in the fight against Kurdish Peshmerga forces and Iraqi army.
