Idlib, Syria – At least 20 civilians were killed and dozens more wounded when a Syrian fighter jet crashed over the countryside of Idlib province on Monday, local sources reported.
Activists in Ariha told ARA News that the regime fighter jet was hit with a missile launched by rebel forces in Idlib.
Local sources reported that more than 20 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured, some of them are in critical condition, “as a result of the fall of a Syrian regime warplane in the opposition-held city of Ariha in Idlib countryside.”
“The warplane fell on the crowded market of Ariha,” activists said, pointing out that the plane was first targeted by Syrian opposition fighters before crashing over Ariha city.
Syrian armed opposition took control of Ariha city nearly two months ago, after fierce battles with pro-regime forces.
