DUHOK – The Iraqi air force on Sunday bombed a convoy for top commanders of the Islamic State (ISIS) radical group, killing several leaders, Iraqi officials said.
The targeted convoy, which included the ISIS supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was heading to Karabla town in northwestern Iraq.
“The operating killed several prominent leaders of Daesh (ISIS),” an Iraqi security official told ARA News, adding that al-Baghdadi was hardly injured during the attack.
“Medical sources confirmed that Baghdadi was heavily wounded and was immediately transferred to an unknown location in Anbar province for treatment,” the source said on the condition of anonymity.
